Welcome/Bienvenidos!

Iglesia Santa Cecilia/Santa Agonia

Religious Education Program/Programa de la Educacion

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission here at St. Cecilia/Holy Agony is to evangelize our Catholic Families in the sacred tradition of our Christian Faith. We hope to accomplish this by informing and educating our children and their families.

NATURE AND OBJECTIVE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Religious education is a process in which faith, values and practices are communicated which makes a true Catholic. It is a work of transmitting faith from generation to generation. To be a Catholic, one needs to have a conviction that there is One God: a God who knows everything, who is Omnipotent and a God who loves us very much. We must be convinced that although God asks a lot from us, he gives us much more. We must also believe that we are part of a community of people all in the same opportunity of getting to know and love God and have the responsibility of making him known and loved by others. We must be convinced that our lives, although confusing and difficult, must have an objective: to have value and pride. All of these make us Catholics. This is all part and material of religious education. To accomplish all of these, the program must involve the whole parish; the cooperation of catechists, parents and students are needed.
