Dear Parishioners,
Father Godfrey Amobi and I send you greetings in the Risen Lord!
This has been a long painful Lenten journey everywhere but especially in our beloved New York due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. We pray that it will lead each one of us to a new experience of the Resurrection, of New Life for all and in a special way for Saint Cecilia and Holy Agony Family of faith.
In the context of this pandemic which suddenly disrupted the life of billions of people all over the world, it did disrupt our rhythm of life in many ways including bringing to halt our communal worship. Yes, our churches are closed because of its effect but rest assured that we, your priests do offer masses for you and loved ones every day. On weekends we offer virtual masses through facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stcecilia.holyagony .
Many of you our beloved parishioners have asked me how you can continue to support our beloved Saint Cecilia and Holy Agony. Here are the ways that you can give your offering for the upkeep of the parish: Drop the offertory envelops at the front office or mail them in. If you do not receive offertory envelops you can send in a money order. For our parishioners who would like to use online giving, make your offertory contribution today at: www.stceciliachurchnewyork.churchgiving.com or go to our website: www.saintceciliaparishnyc.org
We acknowledge that with the quarantine everyone is stretched to the maximum and yet you continue to be generous in any way you can – we truly appreciate your sacrifices and we raise them to God in prayer for each one of you and your beloved families.
We thank you for sharing and prayer that God will make this pandemic Passover – there will be an Easter Resurrection when we will burst forth from with new life.
Happy Easter to you
Father Peter A. Mushi, AJ (Pastor)
